private paediatric Occupational therapy

To rural & remote Australia

Specialising in Neurodiversity - Early Childhood Developmental and Delay, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Anxiety, Little Legs Outback Occupational Therapy helps families to support their children to build on their sensory, social and emotional skills using evidence based strategies that can be applied anywhere, anytime.

Based in Central West Queensland, Longreach

Little Legs Occupational Therapist Lizzie, travels Central West Queensland to connect with clients and parents in rural and remote areas. Alongside this, Lizzie also offers online, in-school and in-work programs to help make Occupational Therapy as accessible to people as possible.

We can clearly see that getting funding and support for neurodiversity is not nearly as easy to access in the bush and that’s something Little Legs Outback Occupational Therapy is driven to change.

WHY WORK WITH LITTLE LEGS OUTBACK O.T?

  • Can’t get to a face-to-face session? No problem. Lizzie offers affordable online workshops for parents to ease the burden of finance and travel wherever possible. Also, Lizzie loves to take her knowledge into schools to provide teachers and families with support to build on their knowledge of sensory, social and emotional regulation from the ground up.

  • You can breathe a little easier knowing that Little Legs OT works with self managed and plan managed NDIS participants. Our fees are in line with the NDIS Guidelines, which means there is no out of pocket cost with a valid NDIS Plan. If you’re not on the NDIS? No problem! We accept private patients as well.

  • An expert in her field, Lizzie has more than 10+ years experience as an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist specialising in neuroscience and cognition amongst youth. Her fields of interest are neurodiverse children with Autism, ADHD and Anxiety and providing parent coaching to families using evidence-based strategies.

MEET LITTLE LEGS OUTBACK O.T & FOUNDER

lizzie kearney

Welcome, friends!

If you are looking for a supported and safe space where you feel listened to, you’re in the right place.

Let me tell you a little about who I am, and we can get to know each other.

A southerner from Geelong, I fell in love with neuroscience, with an invested interest in Early Childhood Development, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Anxiety - removing the stigma, and helping children and their families live meaningful, independent and happy lives.

After relocating to Longreach in 2020, I could see the barriers to accessing specialised Allied Health for those in rural, remote & regional areas. With limited options for utilising NDIS funding, Little Legs Outback Occupational Therapy aims to pioneer accessibility for private Early Intervention - something that is often not a choice, but a need.

My mission is to deliver supportive, evidence-based strategies to help parent’s and carers feel they have the tools to support their child and family to build practical, lifelong and meaningful skills.

Collaboratively working with the National Disability Insurance Agency, I have found passion in supporting families in navigating this incredible nationwide Scheme.

I’m so excited to get to know you.

Yours in health,

Lizzie Kearney
